About Reiki

Reiki is a form of an ancient energy therapy, rediscovered in Japan during the late 19th Century. Reiki is a Japanese word made up of Rei & Ki and is translated as Universal Life Energy - (REI) Divine, Sacred Source, and (Ki) Life Force Energy. Reiki philosophy is based on the body's ability to heal itself once a healthy flow of energy is established.

 

As opposed to Western medicine, Eastern medicine (few thousand years old) has always recognised and worked with this energy (Chi, Prana, Ki) flowing through all living things. When this free flow becomes disruptive or blocked, it manifests as pain and eventually an illness in the physical body. Stress, worry, emotional upset, negative thoughts all disrupt the harmonious flow of energy within our bodies. Reiki stimulates body and mind into a state of a deep relaxation and boosts up the body's ability to self-heal.

 

Reiki works holistically on all levels (physical, mental and emotional) and strives to bring these differing levels into balance (mind-body-spirit).

 

Reiki complements well both Western and Eastern medicine practices and everyone from babies, children to adults and the elderly can benefit from it. Reiki restores balance in one's life. It increases supply of Life-force energy, relaxes when stressed, energises when drained, calms when anxious, accelerates healing, detoxifies and cleanses the body of toxins and releases emotional wounds.

 

Reiki is now practiced widely in both medical (hospitals) and non-medical environments around the world. While it is not a substitute for regular medical care, it is a perfect complimentary therapy to conventional medical practices and can assist and help with long standing issues to bring about changes and improvements to one's overall health.
